Beaches Chios is an island adorned with beaches of all types and for all tastes. The most Cosmpolitan beaches and also the closest ones to the main town of Chios are: Karfa Beach,. a beach with fine sand on the south and Vrontados, Daskalopetra and Ormos Lo on the north. on these beaches you can find many fine restaurants. There is a frequent busservice from the main town to the beaches. Going south after Karfa beach you will find the Beaches. or Agla Ermioni and Mega Limiona located 3kms away from the village of Thymiana. The beaches closest to the south-eastern villages of Chios are Agia Fotini and Agios Emilianos near Kalimasia and going south the beach of Katarachti. Gridia beach is located on the south of Chios 2,5 kms away from the village of Nenita. Komi is a beautiful beach 4kms away from the village of Kalamoti. Just 6 kms from the well-known village of Pirghi you will find Emporios or Mavra Volia, a fine beach with transparent clean water and round black pebbles. Fana beach is located 8,5 kms away from the village of Olympi and Limena beach 4 kms away from Mesta. On the northand only 4 and 5 kms respectively away from the town of Cardamila the beautiful clean beaches of Nagos and Giossona are certainly worth a visit. On the north-west part of the island you will find the well-known beautiful beaches of Limia and Agia Markela, 1,5 and 7 km respectively away from Volissos. The island also has more beaches that are not as well-known or popular but are nonetheless beautiful. On most of these beaches you will find small tavernas and or snack-bars that wil! make your visit pleasureable.
