Fotia's Small picturesque beaches. Leaving the coast behind you, visit the village of Thymiana. Especially worth a visit is the village's church named Agios Efstratios, built of the local famous redstone called "Thymianousan". You can also visit the monasteries of Agios Minas and Panagia Plakidiotissa, thus entering the area of the Mastihohoria (Mastic Villages). The most famous ones are Kallimasia, Kalamoti and Nenita. These medieval villages are heavily fortified, due to the frequent pirate's raids of the Middle Age. The main product of the area is the mastic, earned from the unique mastic tree that doesn't grow on any place other place of the world. The tour continues through a beautiful landscape of olive trees, mastic trees and other groves.
